A product review of Softsoap Pomegranate and Mango Infusions

Softsoap Juicy Pomegranate and Mango Bar Soap
The image is from Softsoap’s website

I want to share my review on one of Softsoap’s new bar soaps, Juicy Pomegranate and Mango Infusions.

I was in my local grocery store, and noticed this new line of bar soap from Softsoap. I love bar soap, and the knowledge that Softsoap had created these excited me! They make great smelling liquid hand soaps, so I decided on the Pomegranate and Mango bar soap, because I liked its smell the best.

I was eager to get into the shower to try out my new soap. I was pleased with the scent of the soap as I used it. It was fruity and it lathered really well. I felt clean after I used it, but not very moisturized. Don’t get me wrong. My skin wasn’t about to crack, but it was a little dry to me.

After using it for a few days (I wanted to give this product a few chances), I started reading online reviews for this product. Lots of people, really like the soap, but for me, this one was just not a winner.

Also, I like for the scent to linger on my skin after I get out of the shower. Once I dried off, the scent was gone. That saddened me, because I wanted to go around smelling like this soap.

I now have 3 NIP (new in package) bars left of this soap. I guess that I will be donating these bars to a local charity for others to use.

Pumpkins after Halloween

Tonight, after we got home from watching The Wiz it was finally time to carve our pumpkins. We only had small ones, and Z was the retriever of both. He got one from Farmer Brown during their school field trip and he got another one from the Pumpkin Fun Run yesterday. Here are their creations. Everyone pitched in to get out the innards, the boys decided what they wanted the faces to look like, and James and I carved them. I think they look great! Z’s is on the left and Tu’s is on the right.

Duke Pumpkin Fun Run 2011

On Saturday, Z and I did the Duke Pumpkin Fun Run 2011.  We did the race, mostly side by side, sometimes he wanted to stop and look at things in the forest.  Together we finished with a time of 41 minutes and 44 seconds.  Not bad for running with a 5 year old. :D  I think that he did awesome.  There were some minor complaints from him about being tired and all, but he did great!  We both received medals, which he is going to take to show and tell at school, and he also received a bib number.  Momma is proud. :)  After the race he was able to gorge himself on bananas, granola bars, bagels and water.  We got our faces painted, I got a ladybug and he got a bat, and then he played in the castle bounce house, until it was time to go. We also received these really cute bright orange pumpkin socks that I will definitely rock around the house.

I would have taken lots of pictures, but my phone was broken, and I wouldn't have another one until I got home from the race.  So, I will have to update, once the official pictures from the race have been posted.  But until then, here is a picture of Z after we got home from the race.

Why is he saluting you ask? Right now, he is very much into the fact that we are celebrating the soldiers next Friday. Love it!

Not where he was supposed to be

Let me tell you about my Friday, Nov. 4th.

The day started off strange, because when I unplugged my Motorola 3 Droid, it did not turn on.  I plugged the charger back in, and the battery showed 0%.  Long story short, I took it to the Verizon store, and they could not fix it. It was under warranty, so I paid $20 for 2 day express, so that I could get another phone my 12 noon on Saturday.  So, I was without a phone on Friday.

That afternoon, I left work, as I always do, to meet Z at the bus stop.  When his bus arrived, he did not get off.  The bus driver went to get him, and informed me that we was not on the bus.  I ran back into my car and practically raced to get to his school.  Did I mention that my phone was defunct, so I had no clue if he was a school, or if he was on the wrong bus, or anything else that could have been worse.  I was trying not to freak out, but I was nervous, because my kindergartner was not where he was supposed to be.  I parked in the front drive of the school and ran to the front door.  I could see him through the window, and he had the biggest smile on his face.   Meanwhile, I was about to be in tears from relief.  The school had been able to reach my husband, and he called my FIL, so there were two of us on the way to get Z.

Why was Z not on the bus you ask??  It was because he thought that he was a car rider…..did I write a note for him to be a car rider?  Nope.  He just decided that, without telling the one person that would have been there to pick him up, me…..

I was nervous, but really relieved that he was safe and sound.  It would have been great, had my phone been working, I would have known that he wasn’t on the bus before I even got to the bus stop….

It snowed!

Pull-Up Snow Close Up

Look SNOW!

This morning, before I left the house, I needed to move over a load of my kids clothes from the washing machine to the dryer.  When I opened the washing machine, to my surprise, it had snowed inside of the washing machine!  Once my eyes took in exactly what I was seeing, I proceeded to do a series of grumbles and grips because I realized what created the proverbial snow that was in my washing machine.  A washed and destroyed Diego Pull-Up trainer.  There was gel ALL OVER THE CLOTHES!!  I decided to take the clothes outside and shake them off, before putting them through another wash cycle.  Here is what the front steps looked like after I finished shaking off all of the clothes that were in that load.

It is hard to tell in the picture, but this stuff was everwhere.  This debacle threw me behind on leaving the house…..at least it wasn’t a permanant marker…..right?????

Go get this gum!

Let me start off this post, by saying, that I have not been paid for this endorsement.

Okay, logistics out of the way….

Wrigley’s Extra Dessert Delights Sugarfree Gum, in the Mint Chocolate Chip flavor is friggin’ fantastic!

It smells just like Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream, and it tastes just like mint and chocolate chips.  If you are a fan of these two flavors combined, then this gum is for you.  I have tried in the past chewing Wrigley’s Extra Fruit Sensations gum, to help reduce my cravings for sweets, but the Dessert Delights takes the cake, (no pun intended :) ) for helping to chew away my sweets cravings for 5 calories a stick!

I also have the Strawberry Shortcake and Key Lime Pie flavors, but I haven’t opened up those packs yet.  If I think about it, I will write about how they taste when I chew them.

I was able to score this gum, this morning, in Kroger, on its own display near the pharmacy department.  They were on sale 10/$10 and there was a “catalina coupon” of sorts on the display for a BOGO.  So, I ended up getting each pack of gum (15 sticks each) for $0.50.

According to Wrigley’s website, they are supposed to be in stores by Oct 2010.  But I was able to find them in my Kroger today, 9/17/10.  Good luck!  Go!  Run!

It has been 9 years

On August 4th, 2001, my grandma passed away.

Today I honor her by wearing her wedding ring (of course, she had smaller fingers than me, so I am wearing it on my pinky) and her initials necklace.  I love you and miss you Grandma. *tear*

ps. You would get a kick out of your great grandkids.  I am certain that they would stay out of your curtains……….not really…because they are my boys. :D
